On sensitivity of detector structures to contaminants in non-white mixture noise model
نویسنده
چکیده
In this paper, we study the structure of the locally optimal detector in non-white transformation noise with -contaminated marginal density. We show that each of the memoryless nonlinearities in the detector can be at least approximately represented as a term for the nominal density plus a correction term in closed form that is directly proportional to . The approximations are found, by simulation, to be good in most cases except when is large and the tail weight of the contaminant is large. We also show that the eigenfunctions of the bivariate noise density can be put in a similar form. This paper was presented in part in [5]. Oscar C. Simulation of Simplified Computational Model of Jacket Structure with Timoshenko Cantilever Beam and Experimental Signature
Today many complex models, typically finite element models, have been employed in the analysis of jacket offshore structures. However, these comprehensive models are not readily adopted in engineering practice, especially during the preliminary design stage. As the dynamic analysis of jacket platforms is very complicated, it will be very advantageous to make a simplified computational method to...

متن کاملNon-auditory Effects Caused by Environmental Noise Pollution
Noise pollution is one of the prominent environmental problems affecting human health especially in developing countries. The impacts of noise on health should not be underestimated. Exposure to acoustical stimuli impairs not only the function of auditory system but also that of many other systems of human body. Previous investigations revealed that noise exposure could result in sleep disturba...
متن کاملNumerical Simulation of Random Irregular Waves for Wave Generation in Laboratory Flumes
Understanding of wave hydrodynamics and its effects are important for engineers and scientists. Important insights may be gained from laboratory studies. Often the waves are simulated in laboratory flumes do not have the full characteristics of real sea waves. It is then necessary to present reliable methods of wave generation in wave flumes. In this paper, the results of numerically simulate...
متن کاملIMPLEMENTATION OF EXTENDED KALMAN FILTER TO REDUCE NON CYCLO-STATIONARY NOISE IN AERIAL GAMMA RAY SURVEY
Gamma-ray detection has an important role in the enhancement the nuclear safety and provides a proper environment for applications of nuclear radiation. To reduce the risk of exposure, aerial gamma survey is commonly used as an advantage of the distance between the detection system and the radiation sources. One of the most important issues in aerial gamma survey is the detection noise. Various...
